Kèr Esíhguglà

Kèr Esíhguglà (/ˈesɪ̞g/ /ˈuglə/ [discussion] [due]) is a subtropical Town located in the Tsvíhiow County of the Picham Community.

The name Kèr Esíhguglà is derived from the Tauric language, as Kèr Esíhguglà was founded by Glënm Cecil Fluellen Pritchardd, who was culturaly Tauric.

Climate

Kèr Esíhguglà has a yearly average temperature of 25°C (77°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a hot 33°C (91°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cool 18°C (64°F). Kèr Esíhguglà receives an average of 248 cm/y (97 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the summer. Kèr Esíhguglà covers an area of nearly 4 km² (1 mi²), and an average elevation of 860 m (2821 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Kèr Esíhguglà was founded durring the early 10th century, by Glënm Cecil Fluellen Pritchardd. The establishment of Kèr Esíhguglà was plagued by a lack of willing colonists. After attempts to pay people to resettle failed Glënm Cecil Fluellen Pritchardd struck deals with nearby nations and communities to establish Kèr Esíhguglà as a prison colony.

Kèr Esíhguglà was built using the conventions of Tauric durring the early 10th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Kèr Esíhguglà is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Kèr Esíhguglà is was constructed arround several restrictive baked earthen mainstreets which cross one another at certain axies, with smaller streets branching off of them to premit acess to the many buildings deeper into the road network. The overall fashion is remenessent of a circulatory system, or other organic construct, and is quite effishent in its design. The town has a defencive wall made from large clay bricks. The wall is constructed to the exact specifications of millitary fortifications, but the nature of its clay brick construction leaves it vulnerable to even outdated siege equipment. That said, the town is well defended against anything short of an army. The brittle defences have not been wellmaintained over the years, and while functional are in dire need of some loving care and perhapse light renovation.

A look around Kèr Esíhguglà makes you wonder how anything ever gets done. The locals have clear, obvious rivalries with one another, as seen through clenched teeth and fake smiles. What’s more, there is a serious lack of any organization and planning in Kèr Esíhguglà’s layout as well as the local’s behaviors. The town seems to be a den of chaos where tongues are forked and local customs do not exist.

Civic Infrastructure

Kèr Esíhguglà has a first rate hospital which caters to anyone in need of long term medical care.

Kèr Esíhguglà has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands.

Kèr Esíhguglà has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Kèr Esíhguglà is home to a University which provides higher education in a variety of fields, and also serves as a research institute for those same fields.

Cultural Notes

Kèr Esíhguglà's chapel was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used has a sleek, linear appearance with stylized, often geometric ornamentation. The primary facade of its buildings often featured a series of set backs that create a stepped outline. Low-relief decorative panels can be found at entrances, around windows, along roof edges or as string courses. It was best known for its use of smooth finish building materials such as stucco, concrete block, glazed brick or mosaic tile. Decorative details can incorporate various artistic or exotic motifs to suit the building's function or the architect's whim. Chevrons, zigzags, and other geometrical motifs are common forms of ornament.

Due to the actions of local Kami, spring is long in Kèr Esíhguglà.

The Sawleg Locust near Kèr Esíhguglà are known to be almost tame, such that they can be put to domestic use.

Kèr Esíhguglà's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in winter and involves orgies to channel Augury energies of tier 2 via recitation of poetic epics.

Economy

The following information was obtained via the Imperial Census Bureau as part of the Eyom Economic Outreach Program. It differs from Standard Imperial censuses in that many of Tom's citizens, regardless of culture, work in more than one occupation or hold more than a single job. It may function only intermittently, now, or its effects may have curdled into something double-edged. The locals have no idea how to fix it, and indeed, it may not be possible to repair it with modern science or sorcery.

The center of Kèr Esíhguglà's town square was built around an ancient standing stone.

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century a local hero by the name of solved a major long term problem plaguing the town. One of Kèr Esíhguglà's festivals remembers the hero.
